King Charles III visited Tomintoul during his summer break at the Balmoral Estate in nearby Aberdeenshire in September 2023
.
His itinerary included a new £3.3m energy efficient housing project which it is hoped will revitalise the village.
He again wore a kilt made from the King Charles III tartan, which was first seen in public a few day prior to the visit.
The Dufftown & District Pipeband were asked to pipe for the King's arrival in the village.
The Dufftown Pipe Band celebrated the 12 days of Christmas with the Hairy Bikers at Macallan Distillery for their BBC Christmas Special in 2009.
Following successful funding received through the Money for Moray scheme in 2016 the Band were included in a video and as a best practice model for the 2017 event.
Diageo approached the pipeband to play in a commercial ad campaign for the South African market. We were thrilled to be a part of this worldwide brand.
